073_Plant Compounds, Nutritional Coaching, and Eating on the Road with Brianna Diorio

by | May 7, 2019

In this episode we discuss herbal supplements and why and How to choose quality products, including what to look for on the labels as well as some of the shady and unethical practices currently being employed in the industry.

Additionally, we chat about our clinical nutrition degrees and the transition from student clinician to a real-world practitioner, including what it means to be a good coach and how our view of nutrition has changed over the years.

Lastly, because Brianna travels so frequently to lecture, I thought it would be helpful for her to drop some clinical pearls on travel nutrition and supplementation recommendations which I’m confident you’ll find helpful.

Brianna is a graduate from Monmouth University and the Universidad de Cadiz, where she received her B.A. in Spanish, while also receiving two minors, in Communications and Health Studies. Brianna continued on to graduate school and received her Masters of Science in Human Nutrition from the University of Bridgeport. She is also a Functional Diagnostic Nutrition Practitioner (FDN), a NASM Certified Personal Trainer, and a Holistic Lifestyle Coach from the C.H.E.K Institute. She is currently enrolled in a PhD program at the University of Natural Health, pursuing her doctorate in Holistic Nutrition.

Brianna is currently the Global Educator at Vitality Works, a private label nutraceutical and herbal company and has had her own private practice for over 5 years.

Brianna has been working as a Clinical Nutritionist, specializing in alternative health, functional medicine and dietary supplements, working with a vast array of clients and businesses to educate and improve their health and dietary needs. She believes in taking a holistic and root cause approach to wellness, while also placing importance on finding balance, getting back to the basics and making lasting lifestyle changes.
